One to watch, Eliot Ward-Fear is a designer on a mission. Channelling Alexander McQueen old school tailoring aesthetics and beautiful modern technique. His final year collection was a dramatic breathtaking woman in exile.
Inspired by the book Beauty In Exile by Alexandre Vassiliev - Ward-Fear has created what he calls "... a woman trapped and caged. She carries her lost luxury into a world of complete opposite and henceforth stands out."
Recently shown at Fashion Design Studio's 2009 group industry, the mesh body suit with panel details and large drop crystal necklaces were gush worthy and would easily feel at home amongst London's Brown's Fashion boutique.
A blend of East and West with swollen silhouettes is seen throughout his avant-guard collection. Conceptual and sculptural with mischievous panels of patent leather add beautiful embellishment. These are clothes for the brave at heart. Destined to be wearable art, his recently announced first Sydney Rosemount Fashion Week show will no doubt be packed to the rafters.
